Oanh: pronounced "awn"
I've been in the beauty industry for over 10 years. I attended the Reignbow Beauty Academy in New Jersey and obtained my license with the Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling in May of 2000. I specialize in clean beauty makeup and modern hairstyling. That is a brief description of what I do, but not really who I am.
Growing up I never had an interest in hair or makeup besides the one time I chopped off all my hair when I was 5 years old. I wanted to be a pediatrician when I was in high school. After attending Rutgers University for 2 years with a major in Bio Med, I decided to go to beauty school. It was suggested by my mother and since I was looking for a change I decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, cosmetology came very naturally to me. After graduating, I worked in a salon for a few years, but ultimately knew that I wanted to work for myself.
I love doing hair and makeup on all types of clients, but bridal work is my passion. The reaction I get when I've finished a bride's hair and makeup is always important to me. When I hand her the mirror and she looks at herself for the first time is why I LOVE WHAT I DO! The pride in pleasing a bride and achieving what she has envisioned herself to look like on her wedding day is what motivates me. I always feel honored to be a part of someone's wedding day, one of the most important and memorable days for a bride. I am married and I know how the stress can be overwhelming during the wedding planning process. I want to be the one to take care of your hair and makeup so you'll have one less thing to stress about on your special day.
Now that you know about me, I would love to hear about you and your wedding plans, and have you in my makeup chair!
